Lumette at 180 Corner

What: Lumette at 180 Corner is a pop-up from chef Jackson Boxer (Brunswick House & Orasay). It’s a concept that has been in the making for some time now and a test run for a more permanent fixture sometime in the new year.

Where: 180 Corner, 180 Strand, London WC2R 1EA

When: 15th-18th November (ticketed pop-up) with a view to a permanent home in 2023

Signature/standout dishes:

  • Beef shin cannelloni, saffron & pecorino

  • Foie gras, Brixham crab & Madagascan pepper

Price: Tickets for this event went for £65 per person with a couple of wine pairing options one at £35 and the other at £75. We opted for the £35 pairing, from which the NV Domaine Leon Boesch and the 2020 Domaine La Luminaille ‘Grenat’ were particular stars of the show and helped to open and close the evening’s proceedings with style.  The menu and location are TBD for Lumette but if Brunswick House and Orasay are anything to go by then it shouldn’t break the bank.

What Eric Mustard says: Following on from the success of his Kricket crossover (which we were also lucky enough to have attended) this is another culinary triumph for Jackson Boxer and one that leaves us refreshing our browser in hope of an opening date and address. The menu is incredibly inventive and perfectly balanced throughout. He is a chef that seems to go from strength to strength and a personal Crumbs favourite. We can’t have our say on this without a nod to the fantastic staff who spoke passionately about the menu and wines on offer and generally added to what felt like a celebratory kind of atmosphere with smiles beaming from every table. They even snuck an extra course in for us.
