What Eric Mustard says: Following on from a Bar Crispin guest chef evening, I found myself engrossed in Ixta Belfrage’s cookbook Mezcla for at least a month solid. So, safe to say I was pretty excited about this pop-up as was Bobby Biryani, who was with me for Bar Crispin too. Ixta’s dishes are so original and exciting, so punchy and powerful and her guest chef events are one of the few occasions where you are unlikely to really know what’s coming next on the menu, despite having studied Mezcla in detail. We couldn’t get enough of every dish and I am ashamed to say that our table was a mess of different sauces and splashes by the end of the evening. Testament to how much we were enjoying ourselves. 10/10 would recommend anything Ixta.
